Opera is a freeware web browser designed by Opera Software for Microsoft Windows, Android,iOS, MacOS, and Linux operating systems. Opera is a chromium-based browser that uses the Blink layout engine. It differentiates itself on the basis of a separate user interface and other features.
Opera was developed at Telenor as a research project in 1994 and was acquired by Opera Software in 1995. It had been commercial software for the first ten years and had its own patented Presto style engine. The Presto versions of Opera won several honors, but the production of Presto ended after a landmark transition to Chromium in 2013.
