Virtual CloneDrive is a free, freeware application that works and behaves like an additional physical CD / DVD drive on our computer, although it only exists virtually. To be more accurate, you can have up to 8 virtual CD / DVD drives and they will appear in our Windows File Explorer.
The advantages offered by this virtual system are: independence from the physical CD or DVD storage format.
The protection of these formats, as they are not used and transported on a continuous basis, is not damaged.
A considerable increase in the number of reading units on our computer, in many cases allowing simultaneous access to software and applications that would otherwise be difficult to have one or two real reading units providing equipment.
This increases the level of protection in the preservation of the content, since it is duplicated, being in two locations, in the original physical support, CD, DVD, external hard drive, USB flash, and in the created image file.
