One of the most common and easy-to-use N64 emulators, Project 64 also benefits from being open source. Project64's devoted group of enthusiasts regularly merges updates to GitHub, addressing both small and large bugs.
Newer versions of Project64 have cleaned up the need to install additional video or audio plugins for certain games. For example, you no longer need to download the Glide64 video plugin separately if the games are not running smoothly with Project64's legacy Jabo Direct3D plugin.
